It's surely been a whirlwind trip. Since my flight was in early evening. , I decided to enjoy as much as possible until the last minute. I really wanted to go to Basilica de San Pietro for its famous statue of Michaelangelo's Moses. The church itself was not very big compared to the others but when I turned to see the statue I instantly knew. I had goosebumps all over me and I'm not even sure whey since I'm neither Catholic or Christian. Just his sheer pure artwork was quite astonishing the pictures don't do any justice. You just need to see it for yourself to see what it feels like in that atmosphere. I then went to a more "interesting church": St Clement's Basilica in which it was built over a pagan temple. In comparison to the more Medival ~ Enlightenment churches, this one was much more ancient and traditional. You definitly get a different feeling than the other churches so if you're in the area, I highly recommend that you take a quick look.

For my last day in Italy, I realized that eating a lot of wheat has caused me some stomach discomfort (don't get me long, they were all fantastically good!). My Japanese side was calling for risotto. After much researching, I found a small traditional non-touristy restaurant near the central station. And oh my, hands down the best place I've eaten in my times in Italy. I can't wait to come back here when I'm back in Rome the next time! To burn off all those calories, I took a quick stop by the National Museum of Rome which was quite fascinating. There are so many fantastic museums in Rome but this is one of the few that doesn't require prior reservation. If you have a few hours to spare you won't be sorry! And that, my friends, concludes my hectic trip in Rome.

Eerie mask that I saw that I couldn't keep my eyes off since it looked so "real" in a way. You can even see the teeth on the mask if you look closely |

The whole mural from almost a thousand years ago was put on display... amazing to see all the details |

I didn't buy any souvenir this time, but I just had to try some of these. They're actually really good! |
