The 22,000km Trip (14) Hong Kong: Morning Stroll
After a grueling trip from Dong Muang Airport surrounded by mainlander "big 8"s, I made my way to my second destination, Hong Kong. Oh how I missed you. Hong Kong is a place where I oddly consider my "third home" after the US and Japan. Reason being is that growing up in a highly concentrated Hong Kong immigrant population in San Francisco, I grew up inhaling the culture and language. The odd aromas that waft from market places, the bizarre intonation of Cantonese sounds, and overwhelming signs and billboard in Chinese, are all too familiar to me. It feels totally comfortable and homey than being in Europe for example.
After arriving on a rainy night, I was ready to explore the city I missed so much.
