The 22,000km Trip (12) Bangkok: What Happens When You Following a Monk
As well as following cats, I also have a tendency to follow monks. Please don't worry, I'm not trying to stalk them, touch them, talk to them, etc. To me, they're always figures of admiration that I'm naturally drawn to them. On this particular day, after offering my prayers at the local wat, I wanted to see where a young monk was headed to. I lost him along the way on the road but instead I suddenly found my way in a very local market; the kind that is never marked in guide books or even on Google Map. I was there in late afternoon so the place was bustling with school kids getting snacks after their classes, mom grabbing vegetables for dinner, and storekeepers busily stacking their storefronts with products. It was a wonderful way to get lost indeed, all thanks to the monk :)
