The trip back to the US has been especially sentimental. In Japan Christmas is not a public holiday and I was always stuck working in the office because all the bigshot expat directors left early for their Christmas holidays. It was certainly nice to be back this year for the first time in seven years and celebrate it with my family. We don’t celebrate it religiously but it’s nice to have that Holiday Season festivity and of course foods galore! There are a lot of people who take celebrating Holidays with family for granted, including me back when I was in the US. But it’s something very special, especially for those that live apart and are not able to get together often. So be sure to count your blessings when you get the chance!
