A Place to Stay

After two weeks of drudgingly researching and visiting guesthouses, I've finally settled on one. It has 2 beds (one is used as a sofa/yoga platform :) ), cable TV, mini fridge, fan, huge closet, hot shower, and kettle so it's definitably habitable for at least the next two and half months. Plus I get cleaning service daily. My only gripe is that the internet connection gets cut off quite frequently but it's a paltry factor.  Plus, the owners are extremely hospitable which was the primary reason why I chose this place. The hotel that I was staying was very nice but I felt more like a guest; here it's more basic but I feel more like home.

The best part is I've negotiated down the rent to $300 a month. Pat on the back for me. I've bargained everywhere I go in Asia but my negotiation skills have decidedly improved ever since I came here since it's a part of daily life. I'm negotiating everything from rent to flip flop prices!
